Statesman Journal / Cars.com

This interview took place at the Salem Roadster Show on February 13th, 2010 at the Oregon State Fairgrounds.

Mr. Traver, who interviewed me and took the photo, told me that he’d love to be there when we take the RoadMonster to the dragstrip.

Hopefully we’ll be able to do that this year.

I’d love to have the RoadMonster in the paper again!

Special Interest Automobile 12/03 – “Sleepers”

Posted in B-Body Articles on February 18th, 2010 by Stewart

Here’s an article for all of you wagon lovers out there.

Special Interest Automobile, December 2003, issue #198.

“Sleepers…

…1994-96 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon

Final rear-drive family hauler had gutsy Corvette horsepower”

Interesting article about the 1990′s GM B-Platform wagons.

I wasn’t going to post this article, as there are a few errors in the information.

For example, the article states that the Roadmaster Wagon’s LT1 had aluminum cylinder heads.  They were actually cast iron.  Also, it lists the compression ratio at 10.5:1, which it wasn’t.  Finally, it lists the transmission as the 4T60-E.  The transmission in these cars is the 4L60-E.

Take away that erroneous data, and it’s a pretty good article.

Enjoy!

MT 3/92 – Lumina APV vs. Caprice Wagon

Motor Trend March 1992.

Mini-Van vs. Full Size Wagon.

Which would YOU choose?

Remember, this was before the B-Bodies got the LT1 engine…

What the article does not mention is build quality.

Eighteen years later…

…MANY of these wagons are STILL going strong.

I’ll take a wagon over a mini-van any day!

MT 11/92 – Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham

Posted in B-Body Articles on January 30th, 2010 by Stewart

Motor Trend introduces the redesigned 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood.

The Cadillac Fleetwood is a family member of the GM B-Bodies.

Technically called a D-Body, she shares the same drivetrain, and essentially the same chassis as her B-Body siblings.

The main difference is that the Fleetwood is longer.

When this new body style was introduced back in 1993, she was longer than a Suburban, and six inches longer than a Lincoln Town Car!

The Fleetwood received the LT1 standard in 1994.

B & D Bodies were made on the same assembly line, at the same time.

Want to see pics of Fleetwoods on the assembly line?

I’ve got a couple more articles of the Fleetwood that I’ll post up soon.

Stay tuned…
