“The RoadMonster” aka my 1994 Buick Roadmaster Gran Sport.

Buick did not build a Roadmaster Gran Sport back in 1994 when GM reintroduced the Impala SS…

…So, I did.

The car started out as a daily driver.

In fact, she was driven daily for over twelve years.

I started with a few simple modifications and then got serious.

We took her to her first cruise-in in 2006.

I had never taken a car to a cruise-in or car show before.

I built this car because it’s different.

I think different is good.

This is probably the only Roadmaster sedan that you will see that has taken the Gran Sport “theme” to this level.

I’ll include all the tricks and knowledge that I have learned in modifying, showing, driving, and enjoying this big old rear wheel drive GM sedan.

I’ve always been a gear head.

This page allows me to keep my focus on the car, even when I am not wrenching on her.

Also, in the winter months, it gives me something to do when I am not gearing up for the next season.

The build continues…

I don’t know if and when she’ll ever be “done”.

This page is broken down into different categories.

We did this to make it easier to find certain information.

Also, we’ve got an excellent search function.

If you need help, leave me a message.

I am more than happy to assist you.

I have included many of my favorite sites and vendors in the links section on the side bar.

None of the vendors are sponsors.  I don’t have any sponsors.

These are companies with excellent products and customer service.

In addition, I have added a few more pages.

One of these pages is about one of my other hobbies:

“The Sci-Fi Room”.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

You will see a lot of posts related to my latest automotive hobby.

The Rat Rod Page

I am just getting into the build on this car…

Check out the other posts too:

Rat Rod Posts

Finally, I have added a Contact Me Page.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Also, feel free to leave a message in one of the posts.

Thanks for stopping by!

    Hi.
    Thanks for the kind words.
I just looked up the info on my wheels:
    18″ x 8.5″
    Offset 10 mm
I’m not sure of the backspacing.
For comparison’s sake, a stock 1994-1996 Impala SS wheel measures:
    17″ x 8.5″
    Offset 6 mm
It is common on our cars for the rear end not to be exactly centered, so you might want to measure the clearance on both sides.
The side with the least clearance near the skirt is the one you have to worry about.
    HTH.

    Hi Stewart,

I’m from Holland and I’m following your steps regarding the buick Roadmonster. What a NICE car! I must say!

I would like to ask you some question regarding some information for a engine swap for a buick century 1991 3.3 L ( looks great and well taken care of). I want to remove this engine and put an enige of an Buick Park avenue 3.8 L. I would like to know if this is possible?

Looking forward to your response Stewart

    Kind regards from Holland

    Mitch

    Hi Mitch.
Thanks for the kind words on my RoadMonster.
    I don’t see why the 3.8 swap wouldn’t work.
It might be a good idea to check with the FWD guys
    at the Buick Forum: http://www.buickforums.com.
The Front Wheel Drive guys should be of help.
If they can’t help, I’d look for a forum that
    has a focus on the L67 / Supercharged Regal’s and Rivi’s.
Those cars have a HUGE following and those
enthusiasts should have a lot of knowledge
on what you want to do.
This site might be a good place to start:

Keep me posted on your progress.
