The Sci-Fi Room
This is one of my other hobbies.
I am an avid Science Fiction fan.
I like it all. Movies, comics, novels, etc.
I collect props, posters, autographs, toys, store displays, etc.
Here are some photos of the room in our house that we call…
…“The Sci-Fi Room”.
I replaced the ceiling fan with…
…The Solar System.
It is hard wired to a wall switch.
Hit the switch, and the planets rotate in opposite directions…
Autographs from Terminator 2
Top – Linda Hamilton as Sarah Conner.
Below that pic – Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-100.
The Naboo Starfighter hanging from the ceiling is seven feet long.
It was a store display at Toys R Us.
I looked for one on eBay that was missing the tail section. You see, the tail on these display ships looks like an “ice cream cone” in my opinion. The tail they added doesn’t match the lines of the ship. It is a tacky looking added on tail section, with a blunt end. I wanted the ship’s lines to flow as designed and as seen in the films. I made a completely new tail out of fiberglass and resin, and blended it into the ship. Then I painted it to match.
Now the ship looks like it did in the movies.
I have a whole wall dedicated to The Matrix films.
The framed 8×10 is signed by Keanu Reeves.
Boondock Saints figures that I received for Christmas 2009.
Great movie!
The photo of Hugo Weaving as Elrond in Lord of the Rings is autographed by him.
The Liv Tyler as Arwen photo from LOTR is signed as well.
The pic from 2001 A Space Odyssey…
…was signed by Gary Lockwood and Keir Dullea.
George Takei signed this 8×10 for me at a Convention in Portland, Oregon on 1-7-01. How cool is that?!?!
I took a picture of him signing this for me…
Barbara Luna signed her photo above on the same day…
The Hulk bust is HUGE. Only 1962 were made.
1962 was the year the Hulk was introduced.
The Talosian is a character from the first ever episode of classic Star Trek TV series.
This is an all metal life size Rocketeer Helmet. Great movie.
Behind Picard as Locutus of Borg, there is a signed pic of the Borg Queen played by Alice Krige.
The gun is a life size Korben Dallas Blaster from The Fifth Element.
Cast from a mold from the original prop.
It lights up and the counter counts down just like the screen version.
The Fifth Element Stone is a very rare studio promotional item.
The Mondoshawan from the same movie is a nice piece.
Mr Potato Head Star Wars figures…
Sonny bust from iRobot. It’s hard to find iRobot memorabilia.
One can never have too many Santa Yodas…
The Star Wars figure pack was signed by Phil Brown, the late actor who played Uncle Owen in the original trilogy.
I still need Anthony Daniels and Mark Hamill to sign it…
Prop guns are from The Watchmen.
They are The Comedian’s Guns and Dog Tags.
Only 1000 of these prop replicas were made.
The “No Humans Allowed” Sign is from District 9.
It’s an exact prop replica of a sign posted outside of District 9, and is made of thick aluminum.
I like the film District 9 a lot.
Two of the X-Men figures are autographed.
The Saber Tooth was signed by Tyler Mane who played Saber Tooth in the first film.
Sir Ian McKellan signed the Magneto figure at a San Diego Comic Con.
Patrick Stewart signed this pic of him as Professor X…
Behind V’s head is a life size plaque of Wolverine’s claws…
V-Rex vs. King Kong statue sits next to Wolverine Claw Skeleton.
The Wolverine Claw is a very rare prop replica.
Yoda life size statue from Episode 2.
The Episode 2 Yoda was a HUGE improvement over the Episode 1 Yoda.
I have many Yoda Star Wars Figures. Yoda rocks!
Probably my most valuable prop:
This is a shadow boxed actual movie prop from The Fifth Element.
It is a pair of Mangalore Goggles and a Ear Piece.
These were used in the scene…
…when Leeloo fights the Mangalores on the hotel / space ship.
I like the movie Casino Royale.
I think that Daniel Craig did an EXCELLENT job as James Bond.
This a framed and matted bullet casing that he shot from his Walther PPK, during the scene where the building sank in Venice Italy.
Like a lot of my props, I got this at The Prop Store of London.

Signed pic of Wesley Snipes as Blade.
Also some very rare figures from the first Blade film.
Original Theater Poster from The Fifth Element, one of my favorite movies of all time.
Original Movie Prop Scorpion Army Sword from the Movie The Mummy Returns.
These swords can be seen in action in the opening scene of the film.
I have two props from the movie Battlefield Earth.
The blue data plate behind Terl was screen used.
Look for it in the scene where Terl’s boss is looking at “dog animals” and “man animals” on his hand held data pad.
The identification plate, showing the pic of John Travolta as Terl was made for the film, but not used.
Both props are made from aluminum, and the finish is excellent.
I built this life size V for Vendetta Statue. He stands 6′ 6″ tall.
I bought a professional mannequin to start with.
Then, I had the mask made by a prop maker in New York.
It is made of fiberglass and is expertly painted. The “official” masks are cheap plastic.
The belt buckle was made by an artist in London England.
V is wearing real knives to complete the costume.
He is wearing a high end Heritage / Rental Quality Costume, Boots, and accurate Gloves.
Movie Posters:
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
300 - “Tonight we dine in Hell!”.
Life size battle droid from Star Wars Episode 1.
I had William Shatner and Lenord Nimoy sign this phaser at a convention in Seattle.
Having them sign my phaser was quite an experience!
Nichelle Nichols (aka Uhura) signed the other side.
Turbo Lift sticker is from a man who worked in the Paramount Prop Dept for Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Darth Maul: The best part of Episode 1. What a cool character!
This Life Size Watto was a store display for Star Wars Episode 1.
Very accurate with excellent detail.
I am good at repairing / refurbishing things, so I bought two Watto’s on eBay. Both were broken.
I built one good one from all the parts and did some repainting and strengthening.
The wings are weak on these promotional figures. I fixed that.
Now Watto is better than new!
I made the metal wall mount as well.
I have a piece of the Wampa from The Empire Strikes Back!
This is a piece of Wampa Fur that was used in creating the Wampa character.
This was donated by Stuart Freeborn to raise money for Cancer Research in the UK.
Mr. Freeborn created the Wampa, Yoda, and many other classic Star Wars characters.
I bought this from The Prop Store of London.
I’ve been collecting for quite awhile.
I’ve been to many Sci-Fi and Star Trek Conventions.
This room just makes me happy.
I have tried to dismantle the room, and pack things away, and downsize…
…but my family won’t have it.
They like this room.
It IS quite the conversation piece!

Awesome stuff! I love the Star Trek, Star Wars and Rocketeer and V stuff. I am a big fan of those. Any GATTACA things? That is one of my faves of all time.
I am the new doctor at The Salem Clinic Inland Shores urgent care and work with Christine there.
Take care
Jan
Hi Jan!
Thanks for stopping by.
I don’t have anything from Gattaca.
I wish I did, that is a great movie.
We’ll have to get together some time and talk sci-fi!
Take care,
-Stewart
